Family Tents Help You Grow Fabulous Family Moments!

By Roger Jeffries

Do you remember the last time you loaded up the old station wagon or pickup and then went camping with your family? You know if it has been a while and you now have a family of your own, now is the best time to consider family camping as a great vacation choice. Sure, hotels are great, but consider the photo opportunities of the great outdoors to add to your family photo collection.

Camping is one of the best ways to spend time with your family and create some fun memories that you can pass on to your children. You might have been in the Boy Scouts or your family took at few overnight trips and had set up camp somewhere before, wouldn't it be nice to continue the tradition of pioneering the wild wilderness with your own family?

Nearly everyone has a tent stored in a garage or closet. If you do not have camping gear, or outdated camping gear, you can replace it or use it until you replace it. Perhaps you have a neighbor who has one and may be willing to part with it. You can even find them online if you look or ask. If you look hard enough, you can find tents for sale somewhere.

A family tent is great even if you have just one child to take with you, they are designed to accommodate adults because they have high ceilings and often roomy enough to sleep six people. They are user friendly too, it doesn't take long to set up a tent and toss your stuff inside so you can enjoy the outdoors.

A camping tent is also manufactured to keep you warm and dry in case of rain and sturdy enough to weather all the elements. Many of the tents made today are built to last for years, you should be able to hand them down to your kids so they can go camping too. The whole idea behind family camping is to carry on the tradition.

If you find yourself shopping for family tents you should always find a store that has them on display so you can walk around in them and see how much room they really have. Remember that you will need room enough for sleeping bags or cots and for your backpacks or suitcases. You can even lie down in one to see how long they are.

You and your family will thoroughly enjoy camping in the deep woods or at various campgrounds. Make sure you choose a tent with a fly. A tent fly keeps out the water if it should rain while you are camping. This keeps you and your camping gear dry. Remember to set the fly up even if the weather looks clear, since the evening dew can be just as heavy as some rains.

Family tents come with many conveniences such as side pockets to store your keys and toilet paper as well as hooks for hanging your flashlights. Get everyone prepared by taking a trial run in the backyard. Set your tent up there just to see what it feels like. Mom and dad can enjoy the experience of spending the night under the stars with any new camper.

Tips To Remember When Purchasing Your First Compound Bow

By Bart Icles

In buying your first compound bow, you need to understand the basics of a compound bow to help you determine the correct bow most suited for you. You can do the research yourself to know all the details on the essential components and its meanings, as also the technical aspects of bow shooting, but this might otherwise staunch your interest and smooth introduction to the sport once you encounter some difficulties. So, it's more appropriate for you to avail the services of a professional archery instructor to help you understand all the basic and important things you need to know about archery as a beginner to the sport.

One of the first and important things to take note when buying your first bow is draw length. The draw length is the distance between the nock on the string and the grip when the bow is fully drawn. The anchor points are the parts of your face, namely your chin, cheek, and lips or nose, where the string touches your face. These anchor points is where your drawing hand comes to touch the anchor points on your face when drawing a bow in aiming and shooting a bow. A draw length that is too long is not safe to have, as it will make the string hit and injure your bracing arm.

The next thing to consider is the bow's weight. Light weight bows are most suited for hunting, as this need to be carried around for the duration of the hunt when stalking or following a game target. Heavier bows are most suited for shooting stationary targets such as that found in archery competitions.

Next is the brace height or the distance between the bow grip and the string. It should be as comfortable as possible to enable an archer draw, aim, and shoot easily. With a shorter brace height and a long draw length, the bow is harder to draw. Whereas, a longer brace height will let an archer draw the bow more easily. The shorter brace height shoots faster arrows, while the longer brace height shoots slower arrows. The trade off is that short brace heights are difficult to shoot and does not afford accurate shots.

Last to consider is the draw weight. Draw weight should be set according to the type of archer: for adults the comfortable draw weight would be 50 lbs., for kids 10 lbs., and for teens 20 lbs. Draw weight is dependent on the drawing power of the archer in order to have the desired ideal and correct drawing, aiming and shooting movements for more accurate shots.

Take the tips to heart and you'll get the right bow suited only just for you.

By James Beattie

In this installment of our cruise holidays guide we look at the Mediterranean...

A Mediterranean cruise is without doubt the most varied type of cruise available. There are more than 120 seaports, and 17 different countries, around the Mediterranean coastline, offering numerous combinations of cruise vacations over one-week, two-week or longer trips.

Over 50 companies have cruises available along various Mediterranean routes. There are some companies with Western Mediterranean cruises available, focusing more on the ports around Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and Morocco. Other companies offer Eastern Mediterranean cruises which take in Croatia, Greece, Turkey and countries in the Middle East.

Popular specialty Mediterranean cruises include those that tour the North African countries, or the islands of Malta and Cyprus, or the area of the Greek Islands. If you're after a longer vacation, it is possible to arrange a cruise itinerary that takes you around most if not all of the Mediterranean nations.

Culture, history, ancient monuments, fabulous cities, breathtaking views and romantic islands are all close by on a Mediterranean cruise. The Western Mediterranean is home to the world-renown Manzanilla sherry of Cadiz, the classic white Andalucian villages of Southern Spain, the cultural hub that is Barcelona, and of course the French Riviera.

A cruise taking in the fantastic coast of Italy brings you treasures like the dormant Mt. Vesuvius volcano, breathtaking Rome, and ancient Pompeii. The islands of Sicily and Sardinia hold many delights too on a Western Mediterranean cruise. Passengers enjoying an Eastern Mediterranean cruise will view the gorgeous Croatian coastline and the beautiful city of Dubrovnik before heading down to the southeast to experience Greece and its lovely islands. The island of Crete is always worth a visit, if only for the historic Palace of Knossos.

The Israeli ports of Haifa and Ashdod make for an easy visit to the city of Jerusalem and can be reached on an Eastern Mediterranean cruise to the Middle East. Port Said, in Egypt, is also a notable locale to visit on your cruise. With its access to the famed Suez Canal, which brings vessels into the Red Sea and beyond into the Arabian, Port Said offers many wondrous sights.

19th Annual Flea Market & Street Fair at Roxbury

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

It is indeed a lot of fun going to flea markets. Every visit to a flea market is always a new experience for any part of the family. At flea markets there are a wide variety of goods to be purchased at considerably low price, some even for 50% discounted rate! Flea markets are great venues to find an interesting curio or two or something that you have been waiting for to buy but only could not find the time because you don't have enough money for it.

Flea markets are also called garage sales and bazaars. The items being sold here are usually pre-owned/ pre-loved by its previous owners. Shopping at flea markets would entail and meet and greet session with the previous owners. Items here can still be purchased at a much lower price compared to what was written in the price tags because "haggling" is always welcome. Are you longing for a new seating set for your nice living room? Then look no far as a flea market in your neighborhood might just save you from that dilemma.

Almost anything can be bought at flea markets- furniture pieces, home accessories and clothes the list is endless. Pray that you're going to find a nice and gorgeous item for half of the original price and you're going to have a lucky day! Flea markets are usually situated at open parks and neighborhood vacant lot so as to create a wide space for shoppers to move around and feel free to check out the items as they please.

Why does the need for a flea market usually come across? It is because at a certain time in their lives, families realize that they have amassed huge and plenty of things that they will no longer use. Is is also for the obvious reason of raising a definite sum of money. Flea markets are one type of venues that can generate fast money within a day. And one that could benefit you by taking away sizable things you don't want anymore.

In so as much, try and frequent flea markets if you need to dispose of items that you would not need at all. You might find yourself earning money from items that would be otherwise worthless, and at the same time, find yourself a bargain you would want. Flea markets are also good for meeting new people and expanding your network. Connections can be made inside flea markets, and sizable ones at that.

The Tourist Attractions That Shape England's History

By Markus Lampshade

England is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world, and this is mostly due to it's rich history which has resulted in wondrous tourist attractions galore.

A great deal of these attractions are located in London, like St. Paul's Cathedral, The Tower of London and Westminster Abbey. However, there are many wondrous spectacles located outside the capital city as well.

Stonehenge for example is located in Wiltshire and is one of the most famous stone structures in the world. Historians are still unsure as to the origin of the monument, but they suspect that it is around 5500 years old and was used as a burial ground in those times.

The overall creation of this monument is thought to have been spread over a long period of time (between 1500 and 6500 years!) and the stones themselves are thought to have travelled a long way before reaching their destination in Wiltshire.

There have been several attempts at carrying stones of a similar along the same route that the builders of Stonehenge took, but it seems that we in the modern day are not as suited to carrying weights of several tons across rivers and ditches as people once were, as every attempt has failed so far.

The famous story of Robin Hood is plays another big part in England's history. You can visit his statue which still stands in the city centre of Nottingham near the spectacular castle. Sherwood forest is also available to visit. This was the alleged home of Robin and his men. Although it has never been conclusively proven whether or not he ever existed, there are several literary historical references to him, in some case, from as early as the 13th century.

Of course, a place that holds a highly notable place in the countries history is Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of possibly the greatest playwright of all time. It is not only home to the house that William Shakespeare was born in, but it is a beautifully quaint town with a picturesque feel to it, outside Henley street that is. Henley street is the street on which Shakespeare's old house is located, and it is one of the most visited places in the country.

Of course, what is a trip without a great place to stay? You can find some of the world's finest hotels in England, located across the country, you won't be far from some top quality accommodation wherever you plan to go.

How is the Shereton City Center in St. Louis?

By Chris Linch

The Sheraton City Center is situated downtown in St. Louis, MO. It is a terrific place for a hotel. The hotel also features an massive pool as well as a sun deck where you can chill out on the top floor and go outside. The staff is extremely friendly and they also have a lounge and some restaurants.

First of all, the location. You couldn't find a better place to stay if you are wanting to stay down town St. Louis. This hotel is close to Union Station, which is an old rail station made into a shopping center. They have the Hard Rock Caf there as well as Landry's seafood. You are also within walking distance of Busch Stadium. If you are the gambling type the casino has a shuttle that will pick you up at the hotel.

The pool in this hotel is like none I have ever seen. They have an Olympic size pool on the 13th floor. This pool is huge. They also have a hot tub there. It is the largest indoor pool I have seen in a hotel in a long time, and I stay in a lot of hotels.

The sun deck is an outside deck that has a view of downtown. It is also located on the 13th floor just outside the indoor pool. We sat up here and had a few drinks. It was such a relaxing area to go have a drink. We got to meet some really neat people out there while we were there.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Honestly for the price I figured this would be a run of the mill, nicer hotel. This was not the case. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel in Las Vegas. They treated you very well, and on top of that they were very knowledgeable about the area.

The Sheraton City center also has a bar that is open until one in the morning which is also unusual. Most hotel bars close very early. This was also a very nice bar, they had couches and nice tables. They also served food there which was excellent.

There is also a coffee shop and a bistro type sandwich shop if you are on the run. The coffee shop serves Starbuck's coffee. They also have some breakfast items and fruit which I did not get. There is plenty of room in this hotel for a wedding and or wedding reception.

If you need to stay downtown St. Louis Missouri I recommend the Sheraton City Center.
