Completing our spa odyssey from west to east, the Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa in Milton, N.Y. is a renovated 1680 home and 70-acre estate on the banks of the Hudson River. Outside, the grounds have retained their historic charm with exquisite gardens, flowering terraces, and wildflower fields; there are even swans! Indoors, guests can enjoy their own whirlpool tub or curl up in front of their fireplaces.
In the spa, this B&B offers Swedish, Shiatsu, and Hot Stone massages; among others. In the Hot Stone treatment, hot river stones are used to bring relief to tense muscles and sore joints. The Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa also offers facials, and back skin treatments, and has a geothermally heated, solar powered salt water mineral pool!
Pampering guests is the specialty of the house at The Sanford House Inn & Spa in Arlington, Texas, a boutique hotel just a short drive from Dallas. Many of the guest rooms include a king-size bed, and all are furnished with antiques. The Beethoven Room includes a fireplace adorned with marble and mahogany. The inn's spa offers a variety of services, including several different kinds of massage, facials, makeup, a hair salon, waxing and body polishing. Guests can order services a la carte or choice from a number of spa packages.
Combine the romance and hospitality of a romantic inn with the unforgettable beauty of Alaska and the result is Pearson's Pond Bed and Breakfast and Adventure Spa. This spectacular Juneau, Alaska retreat wins award after award for its romantic ambiance, amenities and hospitality. Guest rooms include a fireplace and several also have a Jacuzzi tub. There are several hot tubs on the property, surrounded by woods and offering views of nearby Mendenhall Glacier. The 300-year-old inn features individually decorated guest rooms and suites, many with four-poster beds, fireplaces or whirlpool tubs. The inn's spa has a full range of services, from massages and manicures to body treatments and facials. There are several spa packages, including The Cranberry Cosmo which includes a back, neck and shoulder massage, cranberry manicure and a cosmopolitan cocktail.
