The Rising Popularity of All-Inclusive Caribbean Vacations

The Rising Popularity of All Inclusive Caribbean Vacations and Travel Opportunities

by Mark Hall

The islands of the Caribbean are renowned for many things including the number of all inclusive vacation packages you can find there. The popularity of all inclusive Caribbean vacations has meant they actually outnumber the accommodation only vacations sold each year. One theory suggests it is part of a plan to attract more visitors to the Caribbean; but there is no evidence however, that their popularity has grown specifically because of this move.

The most plausible explanation is the fact that for many people who want to travel to these islands, all inclusive Caribbean vacations packages are very good value for money; especially for people that like to know there are few other financial outlays to expect. Every type of vacation and travel package is available so just about anyone's travel needs can be tailor made to suit them. Some visitors only require flights to the Caribbean as they are visiting relatives; these visitors only require a flight package as their accommodation would have already been arranged.

For the average tourist and his family, an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is the more likely scenario with costs manageable right from the start. Because the tour operators book large numbers of vacations, this is quite likely less expensive than if you tried to book your flight, accommodation and food independently. However, those travelers that are more independent would not arrange a vacation like this no matter how tempting the financial offer. Even after all this time it is surprising how many people do not actually know what an all inclusive vacation actually includes.

Obviously with any vacation package, the room is included in the cost unless you have just specifically booked a flight only. All meals and any additional snacks for example will be included in the cost but that is not necessarily the case with other types of package available; a great deal depends on what sort of vacation is being offered. Even now, some visitors are not sure of the difference between an all inclusive vacation and a full board package.

The difference is that an all inclusive Caribbean vacation package will include all food and drinks whereas a full board vacation only generally includes breakfast, lunch and an evening meal. It is not unusual to find that special arrangements have been made with other hotels and restaurants; this does not normally mean that entertainment, food and events are free at these places, just discounted. Many all inclusive Caribbean vacations will include other recreational activities; dining at sister hotels or restaurants at no additional cost is quite normal and means you do not have to spend a great deal of money even if you leave the resort.
