This destination has beautiful fine sand beaches on both Portage Lake and Lake Michigan. Only a few hundred feet separate the two beaches. Lake Michigan beach are secluded and uninterrupted for 14 miles. During the summer, they have weekly sandcastle building contests and big fish contests. Evenings find guests at campfires on the Lake Michigan beach. Portage Point guests are very fortunate to be able to watch the sun rise 3 miles across Portage Lake and set over Lake Michigan. Of course, sunning, volleyball, kite flying, etc. are popular beach activities. When surf is up, surfing the waves is always a lot of fun.
