By Jose

A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ultimate deal and if you have not tried it yet, now is the time; treat yourself and be treated like royalty while you spend time on these idyllic tropical islands. What more could you want, with a complete program of daily activities on board the cruise liner, entertainment every evening and the wonderful beaches and islands of the Caribbean. Vacations can be for extended period and it is up to your budget, choice of locations and preferences, ranging from as little as three days up to fourteen days or more.

Everyone on board a ship will have individual needs and they can cater for them all, it is your vacation and it can be as quite or lively as you want it to be. If anything, you will have a hard time keeping up with everything that you can possibly do on a cruise liner.

Research is the key here if you want something that matches your interests so pay a visit to your local tour agents and find out more about what's available. Caribbean cruises travel to most parts of the world, but with different price packages for each itinerary together with the duration and the number of places visited.

If your ideal cruise vacation includes partying by the beach or the deck pool, even at a disco well then choose a cruise with plenty of activities. While your travel agent can give more details, so can the Caribbean cruise liner website and information on the types of packages should be more in depth.

The main difference with this type of vacation is the number of changes of clothing you take with you as there is a greater opportunity to dress for evening functions. Women may want to take two or three evening dresses and men will need a tuxedo, they will probably get to wear it for a number of evenings.

Don't worry if you are uncertain about taking your children along on a cruise vacations because there will be plenty for them to do without you needing to be close at hand, watching over them. Where to Bike in the Central US

By PJ Walker

There are so many incredible places to bike in the US that when I tried to narrow it down to five, I realized that I couldn't do it. I ended up cheating a bit and writing out 3 lists. This list is the five best places to go biking in the central US. Please use this as starting point to investigate your adventures, this list is by no means complete.

Waldo Canyon in Colorado. If you bike for the views and the spectacle of it all, this trail is an absolute must for you. The views will quite literally take your breath away. The view from the top is above the treeline and gives you sense that you are looking down from heaven at the most beautiful place on earth. After that feeling, the ride down is extremely exhilarating.

Palmer Park, Colorado Springs, CO. Colorado Springs is a personal favorite so I may be a bit biased about the trails here. Palmer Park offers many trails from beginner to expert. There is an added adventure element as well. There is no discernible way to navigate the park because the maps are incomplete, so you could get lost for a little while, but it is totally worth it. The rock formations impress every time.

Cache Creek to Game Creek Loop, Jackson, WY. Located immediately southeast of the town of Jackson, this trail will seem a little common in the beginning. However, you will not be disappointed after the first 2 miles. Rolling hills, thicket, wildlife and seemingly every kind of flowering plant you can think of line the wide track. This trail works for all fitness levels and is truly beautiful. For a more challenging ride, do the loop backwards.

MOAB in Utah. The MOAB Brand trails in Moab, UT are named for the 4 different letters in the town's name. Starting with M, the easiest trail, and working their way to B, the most difficult, these trails provide a skills challenge no matter what your skill level. If you're a beginner, stick to the rocky terrain of the M trail. For the expert, take the hair pin turns of the B. Most people are somewhere in between and will a great time on the O and A trails. Moab is an otherworldly town not to be missed.

Austin, Texas. The Barton Creek Greenbelt is my favorite place in the great state of Texas. Not only is Austin one of the coolest, quirkiest cities you will ever have the pleasure of visiting with the right mindset this trail is a ton of fun. It is inconsistent in places and you may have to walk in some places but if you are looking for nature in the middle of an urban setting, Barton Creek is a lot of fun. If you can go during the Austin City Limits Music Festival and bike a couple of days you will have lived my dream vacation, I hope you enjoy it.

Above are five excellent places to begin your exploration of Central US bike trails. Admittedly these trails kind of hug the edges of the Central US. I do like to have some elevation change in my bike trails and the bread basket doesn't really provide you with that. These trails will keep you busy though, and happy with your bike riding if you dare to try to take them on.

Kids are Painting on Acrylic

By Mercie Hallow

I was once a member of a painting class back in high school and it left me with a lot of experiences I will always remember. It was through that class where I met my future husband and became a full-blown art aficionado. The experience opened to me the beauty of art and beauty around me. That is the reason why I also took up art classes in College. Since then, I became a huge art fan.

The Pendleton Art Center in 1537 Winchester Ave., Ashland Kentucky holds an Acrylic Painting class for beginners. Young ones are encouraged to get creative as they are offered hands on classes that will maximize their potentials and work on their creative juices. If given the chance, I would not hesitate to enroll my kid in this class so she can learn to appreciate art just like me!

Acrylic paints are different from watercolor, although both are water-based meaning they can be thinned down by water. Acrylic paints are thicker and dries quickly and thickly. It is more often used in large canvas applications. Acrylics come off opaque although it can be thinned down by mixing drops of water into the paint. Mediums can be added to the acrylic paint to play with the flow or consistency to suit the artist.

Acrylic has chemical compositions that could dry quickly that are why it is important to place a few drops of water on it on a regular basis to retain its flow.

During the class the kids are handed out with big sheets of clean paper to work with. They are not really given the real acrylic paints but cheap and safe paints that almost have the same color as the real thing. They are allowed to spread paint on the white sheet and not reprimanded if some went to their clothes or faces. These paints are water based and can be washed down with water after.

Physical Wellness at Minnesota Craft Shows

By Rick Amorey

It has been said that as a nation flourishes, it's people grows more and more rotund. This is a phenomena caused by a sedentary sort of lifestyle and is something that the ancient Romans noticed as they were invaded by Gaul armies. Likewise, this obesity is affecting Americans, because more and more people forsake manual labor for hours upon hours of office work.

But this is not a problem that the people of Minnesota face. Fortunately for us, we are vested in continuous outdoor activities, especially during the summertime. Even though our economy thrives with a booming advance in the automobile industry, we do not forget to just go out there and have some fun. What's a Minnesota family without a family cabin near one of our numerous lakes? Water-based sports, in particular, are events that we are especially fond of. The word "Minnesota" itself means Sky-tinted water, so it comes as to no surprise that we are fond of various sports based there.

But what about during the rest of the year? Water-based sports are fine for the summer months, but not for the colder seasons. While watching and enjoying sports is something we are fond of, truth is, we're probably not going to join the professional circuit. So, when our school years are over and done, we will probably fall into the trap of sedentary living that plagues most of the population of America. This is not a good idea. Look for something physical that will keep you moving in your idle time; it doesn't have to be sports.

Crafts are a good idea. It may not be as physically taxing as the sports we do, but it is meditative enough to give us a certain period of peace and calmness. Plus, you engage in something that gives you a mild workout. Crafts like woodcarving or even embroidery involves working arms. It's something to pass the time as you watch the sunset from your balcony.

There are also various craft fairs and festivals that occur around Minnesota during the year. When you go there, you are not only getting a fair bit of exercise, but you can also get inspiration for your own craftworks. Hunt for craft shows that are scheduled in the future now!

How To Choose Fishing Equipment

By Irene Mmari

Fishing is treated as a serious sport, but over and above it being a relaxing pastime. Views and perceptions may different but fishing is undeniably an enjoyable experience provided you have the correct accessories. To get across to the water is one of the prime areas of concern. Canoes trusted and are used rampantly by American Indians, but need not be the best water transport. There are both advantages and disadvantages of a canoe.

A motor-less rowboat is the best since it allows you to stand up to cast. For short distances, row the boat to reach the fishing spot; for longer distances keep a small trolling motor with you. If you wish to fish in big lakes or rivers, choose a boat with high sides so as to remain secure against large waves.

Fishing beside a lake requires special footwear. re not wading. Though chest and hip waders are all time favorites to wade through streams, you could also use hip boots. Tight fitting chest and hip waders should be avoided as they can cause great discomfort to your leg mobility.

Wear a proper jacket, which is available in two lengths Long and Short. The long jacket is usually worn to wade through shallow water or while fishing from a boat. If you are planning to use chest waders, it is recommended you use a short jacket since the bottom of a long jacket would drag in the water. To carry lure and other necessities, wear a jacket with multiple pockets. So a hat with a visor is a good idea.

The avid angler has three stashes of lure and tackle-box containers: The first stash is for the home stockpile, the second and larger one for the boat, and a third stash is for the car. This keeps you ready to face any crisis. To prevent from running out of supplies, buy in large quantities right at the beginning of the season, especially if you plan to fish at night.

Right gear and accessories eventually add a lot of value to the fishing experience. You would never want a situation where you are missing the right catch simply because you do not have the right equipment by your side. Preparation is among the most important aspects of fishing, so make sure that you have all of the gear you need to have the best experience of your life.

How to Pick a Camp

By Lonnie Lorenz

So you are thinking about a Summer Camp for your child. First decide if your going to a Boys Camps or aGirls Camps. Each have their own benefit. Maybe a Coed Camp is best for your child. Next, work with you child to find a camp that will increase their interests or expose them to new activities. After all that, here are the top 10 questions to ask a summer camp director. This list was compiled by the American Camp Association.

What's the camp's philosophy? Is it one you're comfortable with? Is it a good match for your child? Is competition or cooperation emphasized? If it's a camp run by a religious organization, what religious observances or practices are part of the program? If you're looking at a sports camp that touts an affiliation with a celebrity athlete, how much time--if any--will the sports star actually spend there?

How does the camp recruit, screen and train its staff? Do counselors have criminal background checks? First aid training? Drug Testing?

What about return rates? How many counselors are returning this year? The ACA says at most camps, 50 percent of the staff returns. If the number you're given is lower, ask why. How many campers return? Fifty percent is good, and more is better.

What's the ratio of counselors to campers? ACA guidelines for overnight camps call for a 1:6 ratio for ages 7 and 8, 1:8 for ages 9-14; and 1:10 for ages 15-18. Day camp guidelines call for 1:8 for children ages 6-8; 1:10 for children ages 9-14; and 1:12 for ages 15-18.

How old are the counselors? The ACA recommends that 80 percent of the staff be 18 or older and that all staffers be at least 16 and a minimum of two years older than the campers they supervise.

What medical staff work at the camp and what backup facilities are nearby? The ACA recommends that an overnight camp have a licensed physician or registered nurse on the site every day, and that day camps should have direct phone access. If your child takes medication, has food allergies or a chronic medical condition, be sure you are comfortable that the camp will be able to handle your child's needs.

How does the camp handle conflicts and Discipline? Find out what the camp's rules are and what breaches would result in a camper being sent home. You should be comfortable that the camp's practices are in line with your parenting practices.

What is a day at camp like? This will help you know if your child will find happiness with the level of activity. Is their choice in selecting activities.

How does the camp provide transportation? How often are the van inspected? Who is driving, what's the training.

Ask for references. Finally and most important, get the names of parents with children the same age who have attended the camp.

Normally most of limousine rental companies have similar pricing structure. Just look for quality of service the company is offering and more importantly, the fleet of limos.

By Mercie Hallow

Fairs and Festivals are lively events where families and friends can bond socially. It is in here that a family member can buy for a unique find for him/ her. Festivals are also the perfect place to showcase a persons crafting talent and at the same time earn money by selling it to eager hand made buyers. It is the place where a simple hobby is transformed to a money making opportunity. Fairs are also doubled and backed up by live music and dance performances to further enrich the shoppers and attendees experiences.

In a very special way, a fair can also highlight a locations interesting architecture and its history. It could be done so by placing the fair in front or beside an interesting building or edifice that accents the event as a backdrop. The backdrop can then be seen by the people in a new and different light amidst all the colors and music and atmosphere that the fair possesses. It will make the whole experience of going to the fair both fun and nostalgic.

The fairs and festivals in New Mexico is one classic example. The state of New Mexico is a place brimming with rich Architecture and History. Many buildings in this state are well preserved by the locals that display a rich Spanish style heritage. Almost 40% of the states populations are of Hispanic origin which further stresses the dominance of Spanish style throughout the areas.

The Architecture in New Mexico is as interesting as its history. The ancient people in New Mexico used to build their houses underground. They do so by digging about a foot to 6 feet deep from the earth and after placing the right amount of foundations to secure the space; they place a roof/entrance in line with the ground. They call this dwelling Anasazi . Over the years they learned to build houses from the ground made of natural earth materials such as stone or clay while keeping the Anasazis for its new function as a worship or entertaining chamber.

I invite you to spend the time to see the fairs in New Mexico and delight with the rich Architecture the state possess.

Making The Right Choice of Hunting Gear

By Brad Bonan

When it comes to choosing the right hunting gear, you must keep in mind what kind of weather circumstances you will encounter. This alone has a great impact on the choices of hunting clothes and hunting equipment. Other considerations are of course materials used, costs and your personal hunting needs.

The first piece of hunting equipment to look at is the hunting backpack. A good quality and durable hunting backpack has a top priority for most hunters. Considering the many kinds of weather, the best hunting backpack would be one that is made of a water resistant fabric. Since you never know in what kind of weather conditions you might end up in, this would be the save and smart choice for every hunter.

Camouflage fanny packs are considered as additional hunting gear, but they can come in very handy from time to time. Grabbing your hunting knife from your backpack would take considerably more time than grabbing it from your hunting fanny pack. Easy in use and low cost are what makes the hunting fanny packs very popular amongst all hunters.

When going on a hunting trip, you need a hunting knife of high quality. Hunting knives are handy for skinning purposes, cutting purposes and survival purposes. Within close range of a wild animal it is often the best way to use a hunting knife to protect yourself. Always make use of high quality and strong knives on a hunting trip and is an ideal weapon and tool to have right beside your hunting rifle.

When it comes to hunting binoculars, there are many choices to make before buying your hunting binoculars. When you keep the size of your objective in mind you can make the choice already a bit easier. Usually the average hunter doesn't make use of hunting binoculars with extremely high magnification. The higher the magnification the less steady the image will become.

To become real professional about your hunting game, you might want to consider using spotting scopes. The spotting scopes are more powerful than the normal hunting binoculars, which can result in high quality images of the objects.

The rise of using night vision goggles for the hunting game can be explained by the use of better technology, weight and size reduction and overall usability. Therefore the night vision goggles have found their way to a must larger audience than ever before. They make it possible to hunt the night animals and increase the sight in lower light level places and circumstances. Night vision goggles can be expensive, but are a great addition to your hunting equipment.

When choosing your hunting gear, know that it is a combination of many factors and experience you have in the hunting game. When you are starting out as a hunter, you might want to consider the cheaper hunting gear and test what works best for you. After that period you can make the choice of investing more money in some higher quality hunting equipment. Keep these points in mind to avoid bad choices in purchasing your hunting gear.

Hansel and Gretel: A Storytelling in Arkansas

By Mercie Hallow

Hansel and Gretel is a well loved children story from The Brothers Grimm. It is a story of 2 children of a wood cutter who were forced to go out into the wood by their stepmother for poverty has stricken their household. Along the way they lost their trail home and got lost in the woods until they saw a gingerbread house made of candies. Hungry as they were they started eating some parts of the house until the evil witch owner came by to greet them in.

Hansel and Gretel were forced to obey the witchs orders. Gretel became a slave while Hansel was locked up in a cave to fatten before the witch eats him. In the end of the story the children was able to tricked the witch to her own death and returned home to their father who was happy to see them, telling them that their stepmother had died as well.

Critics have analyzed the story as a parallel to Late Mediterranean Crisis here children are forced to work and set out of the home because of poverty. The story is reminiscent of child labor that is happening now in some parts of the world. Nevertheless, the story resembled a lot about several foreign childrens tales as well. Analysts often assume that the Hansel and Gretel version is a mere inspiration from these foreign stories.

This is a well loved tale that talks about good winning over evil. It is well-loved by children around the world, proofs of it are the plays are consequently shown on theaters. The tale of Hansel and Gretel is played annually at Arkansas Fairs and Festivals. It is featured by talented young girls and boys in colorful costumes. The set is so close to reality with a charming gingerbread house.

If youre visiting in Arkansas, try getting a glimpse of the Hansel and Gretel play that will be shown at Springdale Theater early this year. Reminisce the good old days with your own kids and share with them fond memories and the lessons from the well-loved story.

Many people search everywhere they can possibly arrange a wedding to get the most cost effective venue possible. Even if one has enough cash one the budget for a good venue, selecting low cost venues would reduce the overall cost of the wedding thus leaving out some more money for other things like decorations and food etc.

While opting for venues for wedding, one should always think about public parks and open spaces which are controlled by the society or country. Even though a few parks are not accessible for hosting weddings, still one should try his level best to arrange for one for weddings. These parks confirm to be fine venues in the sense that they are economical and are also well maintained.

Adornment costs are also reduced by picking parks as venues for weddings since they are already well decorated with fountains, green grass, trees and plants. They are also good since naturally everybody likes the outdoors and a natural ambience. One difficulty that could arise is the weather condition. Rain or storms can wreck a wedding so one should check the weather forecast prior to selecting a park as the site.

Some community churches are also good for weddings. They are less costly than booking wedding halls or popular restaurants and also provide a religious environment. Therefore they are a good option for religious folks who believe in weddings to be a new beginning of life and want to give their new beginning a religious start.

Local restaurants are also a good option. They are not as expensive as high luxury restaurants and hotels and are also within the reach of the local community. So is one wants a simple wedding with convenience then booking local restaurants is perhaps the best option available. Although they might not be as classy as high luxurious restaurants but still they sever the purpose well.

During the daytime commonly restaurants and hotels are not as eventful as they would be in the evenings and nights. For that reason booking them in the daytime will possibly cost much less than reserving them for the evening or night. In several communities some economical wedding venues have also been set up which are without doubt good choices for a low cost wedding.

Camping Safety: Make Sure You Are Safe

By Lucille Green

Even though camping can at times be life-threatening, observing distinct safety safeguards can add to a positive camping experience for many families. Safety should be the most essential facet of your camping out trip here are a few things to think about on your next camping trip.

You should analyze the place of your camping out before doing anything else. You want to be particular and look for things like broken glass and other trash that could cause a possible problem. While you should invariably leave your camping out site better than when you found it, not all people live up to that high standard and you may be caught with the the consequences.

Before you setup camp take some time to tidy up the camping site. You also want to make a point that there are no protruding sticks or sharp rocks around that could cause an accident if someone were to excursion on them or onto them. It's important to keep your camp site neat and clean to head off avertable accidents.

You should make a point that the area where you are going to do camping does not has any kind of restrictions on campfires, before you go there to camp out. At certain times, dry circumstances or forest fires can cause a restriction to be placed on the use of campfires while camping out. When it's windy you may prefer to avoid a campfire as the wind can make the fire to spread fast to different areas of your campground. Be sure to always have water around to put out the flames and don't go to sleep unless you smother the fire or a camping excursion can become runaway fast if you are not careful about fire safety.

Always be sure to take a first aid kit with you when you're camping and keep yourself well hydrated. It's also a good idea to see if there is anything you have an allergy to, such as bee stings. You don't want to discover that you're susceptible to a bee sting when you're a good distance away from the nearest infirmary. An epipen or other medicine is important to bring along if you have serious allergies or allergic reactions to bites or stings. Be prepared in advance for any noxious plants or life-threatening animals that may be found in your camping out location so you can deal with them if necessary.

Memories can be made and fun can be had with a camping out trip. If you take the proper safety precautions when you go, you will find that your excursion will go smoothly and worry free. Make a point to keep safety first and your excursion will go off without a hitch!

The Major Guidelines to Equestrian

By Irene Mmari

Horse riding wear is an important condition in terms of both fashion and function - each different equine sport requires different skills and movements from riders, which means riders must wear clothing that permits them to move as they need to. A mass of garments are made to provide head to toe safe-guardion for equestrians.

For equestrian activities, the essential items of clothing are the boots, chaps, gaiters breeches and jodhpurs for the legs, the jacket and body protector for the torso, and the hat for the head. It is essential to know about each one of the types of dress, especially for a starter. Each persons preference may be different but it important to know the basics before purchaseing any dress because horse back horse riding can be expensive and its apparel is no exemption.

Horses can be conditioned, but situations are unpredictable, whether in contest or horseback riding for pleasure - so the equestrians hat is the most essential apparel as it safe-guards the rider from falls. The hat is made of a hard shell which is lined with a material that absorbs shock which is important to provide safeguardion for the horse rider in case he or she falls. It's also essential to wear them even if they are not riding because the horse may kick them instead so it's equally advisable to wear them when handling horses while on the ground.

If the horse rider suffers from a fall the hat should be exchanged straight away as the fall can diminish the hat's protection. Every three or four years you should replace your riding hat as its safe-guardive ability decreases over time as the padding compresses with daily use. Three basic headgear are available for the riders with the first one being the classic riding hat which is a traditional velvet hat available brown, black, or navy with a hard peak.

You will also run across the skull cap with is a equestrian helmet that does not have a peak and can be seen worn by most jockeys. For both leisure and contest, numerous horse riders are now choosing peak covers, silks which cover a skull cap to give the appearance of a horseback riding hat. There are also novelty silks ideal for young ones with eyes and ears sewn on them for example. Similar to a cycling equestrian helmet is the skull protector, it is ventilated and lightweight, making those warm summer day rides a lot more comfortable.

Riding headgear include chin straps, and they should conform to standards of hat safety. For example, the United Kingdom has three safety standards. Riding hats need to observe particular regulations for safety criteria like fastening the chin strap. novices should be certain to purchase a comfortable hat and all riders should remember to secure their headgear properly.

Riding headgear are a piece of equestrian clothing that should be viewed with importance because severe falls can be fatal and a horseback riding hat can decrease the severity of the riders injury. individuals who ride horses should not purchase a horse riding hat that used to belong to somebody else because the damage it sustained throughout the first ownership is not visible from the exterior and has a good chance to not offer as much protection, therefore invariably buy new hats if you want to be sure.

Travel Tips - Your International Airport

By Mike Gregorio

Are you planning on flying out of the country this year? If so, have you even been on an international flight before? If not, there is also a good chance that you have never been in an international airport before. Even if you have visited an international airport before, is it the same one that you are planning on flying out of for your next trip? If not, you are advised to fully research and examine the international airport that you will be using. You will find that are an unlimited number of benefits to doing so.

Most international airports do not only house international airlines, but domestic airlines as well. For that reason, most international airports are fairly large in size. In fact, some are so large that they may seem overwhelming. By taking the time to research and examine each airport facility, namely the airport terminals, you will know where to arrive, where to park, and where to wait.

If you are interested in familiarizing yourself with the layout of your international airport, you have a number of different options. Perhaps, the easiest way is to visit the online website of the international airfield in question. If you don?t already know the address of that online website, you should be healthy to find it by performing a standard internet search. Once you have arrived at the airport?s webpage, you should be healthy to find a map of the airport. Some international airports have interactive maps, but almost all airports have maps that you could easily print off your computer, if you wish to do so.

It is also advised that you examine all airport fees. These fees do not include the cost of your airline tickets, but the cost of using certain airline services or features. For instance, a large number of international airports, especially those large in size, have offsite parking. This means that the parking lots, which are often long-term lots, are not within a reasonable walking distance to the airport terminals. If this is the case, you will need to make different arrangements. Most international airports will offer shuttle rides to and from their airports, but not all are free. In the event that you will be charged for using a shuttle service, you are advised to determine that cost ahead of time.

Although you may be able to receive a free shuttle ride from the airport parking lot to your terminal, you will not be able to get food and souvenirs free of charge. Although it is impossible to determine the exact cost of your souvenir purchases or the cost of your food, you should be able to make a reasonable estimate. This estimate may be important, especially if you are traveling on a limited budget. By examining the shopping centers and restaurants that you will have access to, you should be able to decide how much or how little you would like to spend at the airport.

You will also want to see if the international airport that you will be using has an estimated arrival time. Almost all airports request that you arrive at least two hours before your flight is scheduled to take off, but some international airports have other suggestions or advice for travelers. If you find that the airport recommends arriving three hours early, you are advised to arrive three hours early. This will help to ensure that you are able to make your international flight. If a problem should arise and you miss your flight, it may be difficult to schedule another international flight right away; you may not only be required to wait a few hours, but a few days.

With this research taking a maximum of a few hours, you are advised to do it; you are guaranteed to walk away better prepared.

Tight Lines in Red Lodge Montana.

By Johnny Tightlines

I have fished Montana for over four decades and even have had conversations with legend Bud Lilly. I have fished with the author who completed George Brook's final book, Rand Oslund. I've fished the Gallatin, Madison, Jefferson, Missouri, Big Horn, Smith River, Yellowstone, spring creeks, creeks in Yellowstone National Park and pretty much everywhere in the State, including several high mountain lakes.

We stay at a beautiful new development in Red Lodge called The Spires at Red Lodge. It has a beautiful trail system, views of 12,00 foot peaks and even a creek with trout in it in their large 12 acre park.

Really going in to great detail and giving you the stories that go with each of these streams isn't possible in a short article. As my fishing buddy Randy says, "If I told you everything then I'd have to kill you."

Right through the middle of downtown Red Lodge there is great fishing in the Main fork of Rock Creek early spring, late summer and in the fall (it is a bit high in early summer). Strip black streamers or use stone nymphs like a bitch creek. Bead head nymphs do pretty well, too. There are lot's of small to medium sized rainbows and browns in Rock Creek and the further toward Roberts you go, the bigger the fish get.

Just a 20 minute drive to the west from The Spires at Red Lodge development along U.S. Highway 78 in Red Lodge is Roscoe, Montana home to the Grizzly Bar. Stop there on the way back from fishing, not on the way up. Go about 4 miles out of Roscoe towards East Rosebud Lake until you cross a wooden bridge. You can park there and walk down, or walk up. Dry flies if they are rising and nymphs and streamers if they aren't. Streamers will be more successful on cloudy days.

If you are in really good shape and want to catch some huge lake bound cutthroat then you can hot foot hike out of East Rosebud Canyon up to a lake known as Arch Lake. Of all of the dozens of lakes in the million acre Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness this is perhaps the finest and with the largest average size of trout. Of course this is a 2,500 vertical foot hike straight up out of the East Rosebud valley so it is not for the faint of heart and you are scrambling on large boulders and scree fields a lot.

Further down the road to the northwest is also some great fishing. If you've got a raft or a kick boat you are going to love the Stillwater River. It is a great April/May and then mid July through October, fishing river and has much less pressure than Montana's western rivers.

In the spring time head 60 miles south to Cody and Newton Reservoir for some great big fish stories. Little flies on top and leeches down below, whatever they are hitting on. The surface activity can be a ball. Try the far side in waders all the way away from the parking lot and wade out in the weeds.

Another incredible spring time lake is Newton down in Cody, Wyoming; of course you will need a Wyoming fishing license but there are some very big rainbow and brown trout in this lake just two miles north of Cody.

A lot of the high mountain lake stuff always has the word exercise attached to it. Of course you can fish lakes right along the highway at over 9,000 feet but since everybody and their dog can access these lakes then they are nearly as good as the lakes that are tough to access. That is what makes Glacier Lake so great. It is a 5mile dirt road off Highway 212 to get to a parking area. From there it is about a one hour hike up to the lake, which at 9,681 feet is often not even free of ice until mid-July. For the fortunate few who time it right there are some real big fish waiting. Go as deep as you can and retrieve slowly.

You really can't beat the uncrowded experience that goes with Montana fishing. For skiing, biking, hiking, rafting, golfing, bird hunting, golf, and tons of other recreation it is tough to beat Red Lodge. This is why a few years back we decided to make a significant investment in Red Lodge Montana real estate. They just don't make it like this anymore and the world keeps growing.

The Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat

By Linda Jenkins

Any discerning parent wants the best possible protection for their child when traveling in the car. On the other hand, even though safety is of primary importance, your child's comfort should also be a determining factor in choosing a car seat. The Britax Marathon is an excellent choice when it comes to both safety and comfort.

One thing which a lot of parents overlook is how long the car seat will be used by their child. The Britax Marathon car seat uses a larger shell than other car seats, enabling the car seat to be used for a much longer time as your child grows. This provides the lasting peace of mind that comes from knowing that your child is receiving optimal protection in the car.

Even though the shell of the Britax Marathon is larger than a lot of other models of child's car seat, this seat still fits comfortably into many different vehicles - it's even approved for air travel! The Britax Marathon is easily adjustable, being able to be installed rear-facing for children of up to 33 lbs and then readjusted to face forward as your child grows. This seat can accommodate children of up to 65 lbs.

Many other brands of car seat don't have the same benefits of being adjustable to suit your child as he or she grows. The Britax Marathon can be adjusted to safely position a newborn baby, easily re-adjusted to suit a toddler and then adjusted further to accommodate a young child. At each age group, your car seat is still offering maximum comfort while giving your child the most possible protection while in the car with you.

Many car seats have straps that are either not adjustable enough or that children seem to find uncomfortable. The Britax Marathon offers adjustable shoulder straps that still offer your child the highest possible level of safety and comfort as they grow.

One of the best features of the shoulder straps used in this car seat is that there are Velcro strips on the side of the seat which hold back the straps as you place your child into the seat. Any parent who has struggled to get the straps adjusted while getting a child properly situated in a car seat knows exactly how useful this can be. The straps are within easy reach and held back with Velcro, making getting your child into the seat a snap .

There are also a wide variety of different decorative covers which can be used with the Britax Marathon. You can find covers in any style or cover you need - from cheerful floral prints to solid colors which can match your upholstery. The seat of the Britax Marathon is made from a ultra soft velour-like fabric which snuggles your child for added comfort.

Parents who want to make sure that their child receives optimal protection while in their car while ensuring their comfort should consider the Britax Marathon child's car seat.

Winter Escape on Your Sailboat

By Capt. Douglas Malat

When winter is on its way in the northeast, I make way south in my sailboat. The Florida Keys is a great destination if you have the time to sail there. I have found the Chesapeake area to be most convenient. The waters there don't freeze up as they do further north in December, so sailing is pleasant in the wintertime. Every trip, I find a new cove to explore. Nearby, you'll conveniently find the Norfolk International Airport. Frequently, my trip extends down into the North Carolina area where the gulfstream warms the waters in the winter. You can dock at marinas such as Dowry Creek in Belhaven to Oriental and Beaufort (Bow-Fort) where they found Black Beards' ship by the inlet. In Beaufort, you'll find an interesting museum. The slip rates are really reasonable at about 7 to 8 dollar/foot/month. If you calculate the rate for a 40 foot boat, it runs around $280.00 a month/6 months $1680.00. There are so many slips available there and the internet makes them easy to find. The trip is a pleasant one and you'll be addicted once you give it a go.

If you sail from Montauk to the Chesapeake, it would take about 54 hours (2-2 1/2 days). A great first stop is Cape May Harbor, a 30 hour trip. There you can anchor by the coast guard station. From there, you can either go offshore towards the Chesapeake, a 24 hour trip, or go up the Delaware Bay to the C & D canal, a 8-10 hour trip with the tide on your side. From a C & D marina, you can set sail for the northern Chesapeake. Norfolk, VA., with the beginning of the ICW, is south. That would be longer, but more inland. I prefer to sail offshore on my trip down to avoid the inland obstructions, tide changes, buoys, etc. Offshore you're just clicking the miles off and getting into your watch routines. During October and November, the wind is on your side when heading south. They come from the northeast, off the land, making the seas flatter and giving you plenty of speed. With a rumbline to the Chesapeake, that would be a beam reach all the way down. Even with that Cape May stop over, the next day would have the wind aft of the beam.

When you first enter the mouth of the Chesapeake, you'll find a great, protected harbor, Little Creek. "Little Creek Marina", "Cobbs", & "Cutty Sarks" marinas offer slips at cheap daily, weekly, or monthly rates. I find the kind and helpful southern hospitality second to none. Another great marina is Tidewater in Norfolk, where you'll find lots of room to dock or anchor nearby. I have a hard time choosing between sticking around the Chesapeake area or taking the ICW to North Carolina. Either way, I find so many great coves and towns to check out. There are many other boaters enjoying their winter voyage and you'll make friends with many of them.

I usually head south in October, keeping an eye on the weather. Hurricane Season is not over yet, so watching the Eastern Caribbean for new formations are prudent. Hurricanes forming in that area do not get to the Northeast in a couple of days, it sometimes takes weeks. So you have plenty of time to do your run to a good harbor in case of one. These two websites are great to assit you in your trip. The first is a global look at the weather by satellite: (http://www.goes.noaa.gov/g8hu.html). The other is a Wind/Wave site, showing Speeds, direction, heights, etc, giving you a weather window up to 96 hrs: (http://weather.noaa.gov/fax/marsh.shtml#wind). Very cool sites to explore..Never rely on 1 or 2 sources of information, always have an over abundance. Your VHF radio also tells you of any Formations or Disturbances in the Atlantic & Caribbean.

It is amazing..Take a long weekend and leave Montauk Friday, and arrive Sunday in the Chesapeake! Stay there for the Winter or go a little further south to N. Carolina. Sail the Neuse River, the widest in the USA, by Oriental, N. CarolinaStay on the ICW which brings you right into Beaufort. There are many stops on the way, Marinas to Picturesque anchoragesto Historic towns & Battlefields of the Civil War. And who says you must be back up North for the summer..you can just stay & explorethe world is yours..take a piece of it.

Moby Dick Exhibit

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

Moby Dick is an All-American Classic Tale. It was written in 1851 by an American novelist named Herman Melville. It is the story of the battle between a ship owned by Captain Ahab and a ferocious white sperm male named Moby Dick. Moby Dick is a story that was regarded the high value of being discussed in American schools as part of their curriculum. The story has an interesting history because it wasnt accepted by many the moment it was released. It wasnt until 1930 when the book was republished with illustrations that it finally gained popularity.

American painter Frank Stella made several art works focusing on the concept of Moby Dick from 1985 to 1997. He created one artwork or two to each of the novels 165 chapters. The varying artworks altogether sum up to about 266 pieces of sculptures, metal relief, murals and prints. Stellas likeness and passion for the novel indeed bordered down to obsession for being able to create this massive collection. His works are currently considered as one of Americas priceless treasures.

An exhibition of the Moby Dick works by Frank Stella will happen at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Michigan. It will not feature all of the Moby Dick artworks but some 30 pieces including his acclaimed masterpiece The Fountain. The exhibit will be opened to the public and everyone is encouraged to see it on January 23 up to May 3, 2009. The event is a great time for families to enjoy and for parents to bond with their kids.

Moby Dick is surely a piece of art work that was able to stamp a mark in the Americans minds and then its history. One interesting fact about the novel is because it includes the character named "Starbuck" which was well, the main inspiration of a famous coffee chain. Starbuck is the young mate of the Captain Ahab's ship who is the only person who contradicts Ahabs plan to fight and kill Moby Dick. His character was of a possibly coward but gentle nature who longs to go back home to his family.

Catch the exhibit and be inspired of a talent of a great American artist.

Get More Information about International Hockey

By Frank De Sousa

In both the United States and Europe, hockey fans can be found; the sport was originally founded, however, in Canada. Europe experiences a great anticipation for the international men's ice hockey world championships, while Americans focus their attention on the Stanley cup playoffs that are happening at the same time. A large concentration of NHL players in any country means that the best players will go off to compete for the Stanley cup.

For years, professionals were not permitted to play at the international level, but now that many Europeans play in the NHL, the world championships no longer are comprised of the world's best players. Hockey has been a major Olympic sport since 1924 and its country of origin, Canada, took home gold medal 6 out of 7 times that year. The latter years of the twentieth-century saw professionals from American, Sweden, Finland, and Canada banned from participating in the Olympics; in 1960 the United States won the gold medal, but Russia won all but two gold medals from the years 1956 to 1988. U.S.Non-pro College students went on to beat the Russians and win the gold medal in 1980 in Lake Placid, New York.

Most Americans weren't paying much attention to the sport at the time, but this began to change. The 1972 and 1974 Summit series had solidified Canada and Russia as hockey rivals. The Canadian Cup grew out of this competition; this is where the best nations came together to play. The name of the Canadian Cup was altered to the World Cup of Hockey and following that decision the United States won the match in 1996; Canada won in 2004.

The Olympic sport became even more interesting in 1998, as NHL professionals were allowed to compete against other top players around the world. Women have made their mark upon this sport, as well; there have been nine women's competitions and the women's game has been part of the Olympics since 1998.

The women's games are every bit as rough as the males, and as a whole, women are truly coming into their own in the sport. Although they still have a way to go in terms of really being there with males at the domestic and international levels.

Hockey was always that sport dominated by males and yet women still have long way before they're really taken seriously. The millions of people in Canada and the United States who love this sport break attendance records frequently. It is a family tradition to go to games and a pastime in the same way that Americans treat baseball, football and basketball.

Hockey has its own sets of rules and a separate world entirely, whether professional or not. People get as wrapped up in this sport as some do soap operas, and truly treat it like the air they breathe. Slapping around a puck late for two or three extra hours at night is considered normal by the most devoted of fans.

Minnesota Nice Craft Shows

By Terence Cole

I don't really care for labeling people. Stereotypes are borderline insulting to a person, and these types of jibes and issues have been known to start wars and claim hundreds of lives. Check it; it's all down in history. While this is all true, most stereotypes suffer because of negative connotations attached to it. A positive stereotype can be useful, on the other hand.

For example, let us take the residents in the State of Minnesota. They are widely accepted as "good guys"; not that they'll go out of their way to cater to your whims but they'll be quite amiable when entertaining visitors. I'm not saying that every individual that lives in Minnesota are this type, of course. I'm saying that it is always a nice surprise to have genuine kindness shown wherever it may come from.

This good-natured tendency is something that they extend to outsiders, as well as to themselves. So it doesn't come as a surprise that people in Minnesota have a strong sense of community and culture. This includes the State's classic holiday dishes, movies and manners. It goes without saying that they have an amazing selection of fairs and festivals as well.

These events are where their hospitality truly shine; even their State Fair is known as The Great Minnesota Get-Together. The good-natured demeanor of the people is one of the primary reasons for this fair being the most populous fairs around. Be charmed by their hospitality and enjoy your stay.

Another facet of the Minnesota fairs that you may probably like is the amount of arts and crafts you'll see around. Juried shows are called crop art, and you must be able to make an artwork out of a plant. This is a really unique twist to arts and crafts. And even so, the organic material will last for a long time.

What is a comfort bike?

By Patricia J Williams

Are you getting ready to hit the trails this summer but need your bike to perform well on the pavement also? Do you enjoy riding on trails but wouldn't categorize yourself as an extreme mountain biker? If you are looking for the best of both worlds, its time to consider a comfort bike.

What is a comfort bike? A comfort bike is the perfect hybrid bike. It is shaped like a mountain bike and can be built to handle the terrain of light off-road biking trails. If you are going to bike on a greenway or a boardwalk, a comfort bike is for you.

The leisurely bike rider now has a choice of bike that will tackle off road trails and is meant for some speed on pavement. You no longer have to ride a 10 speed with skinny tires to get the wind through your hair on the road. The hybrid bike can take care of both types of riding.

The comfort bike, was first know as the hybrid bike, as it combined the characteristics of mountain bikes and road or racing bikes. As hybrid technologies have moved in to the mainstream, this name became confusing. Most manufacturers have moved to calling these bikes, comfort bikes. They provide more comfort than mountain and road bikes with their upright seating and spring loaded saddles. They also go much faster than the old-school comfort bike, which has come to be called the cruiser bike. Cruiser bikes typically have a basket in front and are good for very leisurely bike rides. Comfort bikes can be ridden for speed.

Bicycles can usually be placed in one of three different category levels. Entry, mid level and expert. Comfort bikes typically fall in the mid range. Entry level bikes are the ones you find in department stores with heavy steel frames and low quality components. These bikes are built for durability, not performance.

A mid level bike will be composed of a lighter aluminum frame and better quality components. Most comfort bikes, city bikes and commuter bikes will fall into this category of bike. These bikes are perfect for most bike riders. They will provide the durability needed to make the bike a value and the performance needed so that the bike is fun to ride. They are made to last and to provide lightweight agility.

The high-end bike will be designed more for performance than durability. These bikes will require regular maintenance and upkeep. These bikes can cost thousands of dollars and are designed more with the biking enthusiast in mind. The components are top-notch and top dollar. The frame is light and often made with carbon or titanium which will bring up the price. These bikes are made to handle the worlds toughest trails or win the worlds most competitive races. A high-end bike is unnecessary for most cyclers.

So why buy a comfort bike? Simply put a comfort bike is the perfect balance between a high end, expensive mountain bike and a racing bike. If you want the flexibility of speed on the streets and suspension for the trails, a comfort bike is the way to go. You will get the comfort of spring loaded seats, front suspension and upright handlebars along with the performance of a light frame, good components, multiple speeds and medium size tires. A quality comfort bike will last forever and be a joy to ride. Enjoy!
